Different platforms require different caption formats. SRT is the most universal, VTT is used for web videos, and plain text is great for social media posts.
Best Practices
- TikTok: Short lines (5-7 words max) for readability on mobile.
- YouTube: Longer lines (10-15 words) work better on desktop.
- Timing: Captions should appear for 2-3 seconds minimum.
